Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is 0% EasyPay on purchases and its benefits?
A

0% EasyPay is a flexible plan that allows you to pay for your larger credit card purchases in monthly instalments at 0% interest and at a minimal processing fee charge.

By breaking down your payments you can save on interest charges as well as making your repayments more affordable and manageable.

Q Who can apply for 0% EasyPay?
A

As long as you have a Standard Chartered credit card with enough credit limit to cover the amount of your purchase, you can enjoy this benefit.

Q Where can I use 0% EasyPay
A

Anywhere in Brunei and around the world.

For purchases made at Standard Chartered EasyPay merchants, you only need to fill up a 0% EasyPay Request Form at the merchants. For all other purchases made else where, just call our Phone Banking at 265 8000 within 30 days from the date of your purchase.

Q

How many instalments can I spread into?

A

You can spread your payments over 6, 12, 18 or 24 months. All 0% EasyPay plans on purchases get rounded down to the nearest 10 dollars. (Example, if your total purchase amount is B$1,235.35, a total of B$1,230 will be converted into instalments, while the remaining B$5.35 gets charged to your credit card as a normal transaction).

For balance transfer, there will be no rounding.

Q

How does 0% EasyPay affect my credit limit?

A

When you convert a purchase or balance transfer to 0% EasyPay, the total amount will be taken off your credit limit. Gradually, as you make your repayments, your credit limit will be progressively restored by the amount of each instalment. The available credit limit reflected in your monthly credit card statement does not include your 0% EasyPay outstanding. Call 265 8000 or SMS 875 5000 to check your available credit limit.

Q Is there any purchase amount required?
A

A minimum purchase amount of B$300 and up to a maximum of B$30,000 in a single transaction apply for 6, 12 & 18 months plans.
For 24 months instalment plan, minimum purchase amount of B$3,000 is required.

Q

Are there any fees incurred for this credit card benefit on purchases?

A

A one-off processing fee will apply as follows:
• 3% for 6 and 12 months plans or minimum B$30, whichever is higher.
• 3% for 18 and 24 months plans or minimum B$50, whichever is higher.

Q

How can I be eligible for Standard Chartered EasyPay promotions if any?

A

Only purchases made via Standard Chartered Bank/Merchant Solution’s terminals are entitled to Standard Chartered Bank EasyPay promotions if any.

Q

What is Overseas Transaction?

A

This refers to transactions made through your Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card outside Brunei or online and appeared in your statement with amount in foreign currency.

Q

Are there any finance charges for the credit card benefit?

A

Each monthly instalment will be treated in the same way as a charge from a normal transaction on the card account and will be shown in the monthly statement. In the event that the Bank does not receive full payment of the New Balance shown in the Statement by the Payment Due Date, the New Balance including the EasyPay instalment amount will attract finance charges until the date of full payment.

Q Can I use 0% EasyPay for balance transfer?
A

Yes. You can visit any of our branches to apply for this. Just bring along your other bank’s credit card and latest 3 month statements.

The minimum balance transfer amount is B$500 and you can transfer up to 80% of your Standard Chartered credit limit.

A one-off processing fee will apply as follows:
• 5% for 6 and 12 months plans or minimum B$30, whichever is higher.
• 8% for 18 and 24 months plans or minimum B$50, whichever is higher.

Q What if I decided to settle my 0% EasyPay early?
