Our Corporate Social Responsibilities
We realise that we form an integral part of the communities we operate in, and aim to make a difference in these markets. Through utilising our core skills, services and talent, we know that we can make the greatest difference in our community.
This is what makes Standard Chartered Bank unique. Our corporate social responsibilities are two-pronged: Seeing is Believing being a campaign that aims to eradicate blindness; and Living with HIV / AIDS, a campaign to improve awareness and education on this global epidemic.
Working together with the government of Brunei Darussalam, as well as numerous non-governmental charity organisations, Standard Chartered Brunei has introduced and organised many community events to raise funds for these two initiatives, enabling a lasting difference to be made locally. Staff and external parties are also educated through an on-going Bank education programme under the Living with HIV / AIDS programme.
In operating in our markets, we understand that our responsibility as an international organisation lies in contributing through social and economic means to our country. Our endeavours also highlight a need to protect the environment. Thus, we continuously strive to build a sustainable business through taking a long-term view of the consequences of our actions.
