	Getting started PCI deposits begin at BND50,000 or equivalent in one of the major currencies, with a minimum period of one month. For larger amounts, you can consider shorter term periods such as two weeks. You have a wider range of currencies to choose from e.g. AUD, EUR, GBP, NZD, BND or USD.

Premium Currency Investment offers higher interest rate PCI is a Time Deposit with a difference. Standard Chartered PCI is ideal when you are indifferent to receiving either the base currency or the alternate currency. It is also perfect when the exchange rate movement between the two currencies you have chosen is minimal. When you are holding an existing currency that is weakening, you can use this as an opportunity to receive a higher interest rate which can buffer the foreign exchange differences. It is easy to invest in Premium Currency Investment.

1.	Place a Foreign Currency or Brunei Dollar deposit as your base currency.
2.	Choose a second currency as an alternate currency.
3.	Decide on the deposit period.
4.	Agree on a target conversion rate (TCR) to be applied between the two currencies.

For example, you invest BND200,000 in our Premium Currency Investment choosing NZD as your alternate currency. If you choose a NZD/BND conversion rate of 0.9888, your interest rate will be 10% p.a.* (current BND time deposit rate is 0.21% p.a.)

You have funds of BND200,000. Interested to invest in NZD. Spot rate: 0.9888* Target conversion rate: 0.9888* Pre-determined, agreed interest rate of 10% p.a. for 1 month. At maturity, the principal will be paid either in your base currency or your alternate currency depending on which is weaker. Scenario 1 Scenario 2 NZD has strengthened against BND, and NZD/BND is higher than 0.9888* NZD has weakened against BND, and NZD/BND is lower than 0.9888* You will receive: Your principal deposit You will receive: Your principal deposit +   + One-month's PCI interest rate at 10%p.a. in BND Which is: 200,000 + 1667** = BND201,667** One-month's interest rate in NZD converted at TCR of 0.9888* Which is: (200,000 + 1667**) ÷ 0.9888* = NZD203,951**
