How many years have you been hiring MBA's?
We have a large number of employees who are MBA graduates and have been actively recruiting on campus for a number of years. Our MBA candidates don’t enter into a development programme with the Bank. They take on a real role which has been well thought through to broaden horizons, develop talent, challenge thinking and give you them the opportunity to be the best they can.

I graduated from an MBA programme 3 years ago. Can I apply for the job openings?
We welcome your application. However, please note that many of our job openings have been designed to suit recent MBA graduates in terms of our developmental support framework.

I have a Master degree in another discipline. Can I apply for the job openings?
We welcome applications from all candidates with an MBA and a history of proven relevant experience. For certain finance or technical related roles, we would consider an MSc but this would need to be supported by very strong finance related work experience.

Do I need to specify to which location I would like to apply?
Yes, please specify your top 3 geographical and functional preferences in you cover letter.

Does it make a difference to which location I apply?
Ideally, you should apply to the location(s) in where you have the right to employment. When necessary, the Bank will apply for a work visa for a candidate but it should be noted that some countries may be stricter than others in granting work visa.

Our selection criteria are role based and do not differ by country. Ideally, you should apply to the location(s) in where you have the right to employment. What is the application deadline?
The deadline for applications may be different for each business school. Specific deadlines for schools:

  • Harvard Business School – 18 September
  • INSEAD – 18 September
  • Judge Business School - 12 November
  • London Business School – 28 October

  • The Wharton School – 8 October

The deadline for other MBA schools is 31 December 2008.

How many rounds of interviews will I be required to go through to get the offer of employment?
The interview process consists of 2 stages.
1) 2 case study interviews with business managers
2) Telephonic or face-to-face final interview in one of our locations with hiring members on strengths and potential leadership

Do you pay for interview expenses?
We will pay for the cost of travel and accommodation if you are required to travel to an overseas location for interviews.

We hire from global MBA schools and have scheduled to be on campus at a number of leading Business Schools including China Europe International Business School, Columbia Business School, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School, INSEAD, London Business School, Judge Business School, New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, SAID Business School and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

When and how will I be evaluated once I am on the job?
We are a high performing organisation and we have a well developed performance review framework to ensure that we deliver exceptional performance to all our stakeholders. Regular reviews happen through conversations with your manager and a formal performance discussion takes place twice a year.

What percentage of management are women?
Diversity is at the heart of everything we do. Overall, our male to female employee ratio is roughly 50:50. More than 16% of our senior executives are women and our aim is to balance this figure over the next few years.
