Annemarie Durbin
Group Head, Corporate Governance, Property, Environment and Security

Annemarie Durbin joined Standard Chartered Group in 1995. She has held senior roles in Wholesale Banking, including Head of Financial Institutions for Europe and Africa, and had global responsibility for the Development Organisation Client Segment.
Within Consumer Banking, Annemarie held CB Head roles in the Philippines and Thailand. Annemarie has also been country CEO in both the Philippines and Thailand and since returning to the UK in 2006 has held a number of group support function roles including Head of Resourcing and Reward (within HR), Group Head of Corporate Affairs and Group Head of Strategy and Corporate Development.
In addition to her appointment as Group Company Secretary and Group Head of Secretariat in 2007, Annemarie’s role expanded in February 2012 to cover the Group’s Corporate Real Estate Services function. She is also a non-executive director of Fleming Family and Partners Ltd.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Annemarie worked in corporate finance and consultancy roles for organisations such as ANZ Banking Group and BPP PLC (a listed professional development company). She started her career by practising as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand.
Annemarie holds degrees in Law and Commerce from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is a qualified barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and a qualified solicitor in the UK. She holds a MSc specialising in Executive Coaching from Ashridge Business School and is an accredited executive coach. Annemarie is married with four children.
