David Douglas

Global Head, Equity Capital Markets Standard Chartered Bank

David Douglas joined Standard Chartered in June 2009 as Global Head of Equity Capital Markets, based in Hong Kong. David has over 25 years of investment banking experience principally in Equity Capital Markets. Prior to Standard Chartered, he was Asia Head of ECM for Lehman Brothers also based in Hong Kong.

The Global ECM business advises issuers and shareholders on the structuring, pricing, timing and distribution strategy for all types of equity issues including IPOs, rights issues, follow-on offerings and block trades.

David's Hong Kong IPO experience includes leading China Citic Bank's $5.9bn IPO, the largest Asian IPO in 2007, and acting as financial advisor to ICBC on its $22bn IPO, the largest IPO globally ever. His other Chinese clients include Sinopec, Greentown China, Kingsoft, Airmedia, Canadian Solar, Spreadtrum Communications and Beijing Enterprises. David most recently managed the successful IPOs of SANY Heavy International and China Forestry. He has also led IPOs for many Indian, Indonesian, Australian and European companies on most of the main global stock exchanges.

David holds an MA from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.
