Prior to joining Standard Chartered and prior to my MBA, I worked as a management consultant, a venture capitalist and an investment banker both in the US and in India. In each of these roles my focus was around investing, sometimes examining the rationale to invest while otherwise actually making or brokering transactions. My goal post-MBA was to continue to grow as an investor, do larger deals and specifically in emerging markets. In this regard, focused exclusively on Asia, Africa and the Middle East, SCB's Private Equity group was a natural fit for me. Other key draws for me included SCB's commitment to investing in alternative assets (contrary to most banks these days) and its singular focus on clients, rather than transactions, which I believe is critical to building a sustainable, long-term presence.

In my role, I work with the Mezzanine Solutions team within the Private Equity team. Mezzanine is a relatively new form of capital in India and one that we believe has a bright future given its highly flexible nature. Working closely with other arms of the bank, we recently closed our first transaction and I look forward to closing more in the near future.
