Me

I joined Standard Chartered following a degree in International Tourism Management with Human Resources from the Middlesex University. However I’ve always had a passion for banking so I decided to pursue this as a career.

My opportunities

As an International Graduate you will receive tremendous support to help you perform and succeed. There are a lot of learning and development opportunities, and my mentor in Dubai was extremely encouraging. We met regularly, and he would patiently answer all my questions and help me fit in with the organisation. When I was in Singapore for one of my rotations, he would call me to discuss what I was learning and how I was progressing.

I also had many opportunities to meet with senior managers in the Bank to better understand what they do and their vision for the future. This was very helpful when it came to deciding which area of the business I wanted to join upon completing the programme.

My future

I’ve joined the Employee Banking team as a Product Manager since graduating from the programme. The programme has given me many opportunities, the most important of all was the chance to rotate around different departments and get a feel of what happens and how they work. It really makes a difference when you get to experience it firsthand.
