Appointed
Tanuj was appointed Chief Strategy & Talent Officer on 1 April 2024*, to lead the Strategy, Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing, HR, Property and Supply Chain teams across the Group. Leading at the intersection of corporate strategy, transformation, people and brand, she is responsible for how the Bank develops, executes and communicates its strategy.
Tanuj joined the Bank in March 2017 as Group Head, Talent, Learning & Culture, and was appointed Group Head, Human Resources in January 2019.
Career
Tanuj has over two decades of experience in the global financial services sector. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, she built her career at HSBC, where she worked across multiple HR disciplines and undertook a range of country, regional and global leadership roles in many of our footprint markets (including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Dubai and London).
External appointments
Tanuj is a Non-Executive Director of the Board for Sainsbury’s PLC and is a member of their Nomination and Remuneration Committees. She is also an Associate Non-Executive Director of the Board of NHS England, advising the NHS on their workforce transformation agenda. In addition, Tanuj is a member of the Asia House Board of Trustees ( a London-based centre of expertise on trade, investment and public policy, whose mission is to drive engagement between Asia and Europe) and is on the Board of Autumn (an integrated digital wealth, health and lifestyle solutions start-up being incubated by SC Ventures). She has also previously served as a Board member of the UK Financial Services Skills Commission.
