Bridging Loans
A bridging loan is a contract between a borrower and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) whereby SCB provides the borrower with a certain amount of currency (domestic or foreign), for a period in excess of one day and not exceeding one year.
Revolving Term Loan
A revolving term loan is a contract between a borrower and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) whereby SCB provides the borrower with a certain amount of currency (be it domestic or foreign), for a period in excess of one year and up to 5 years.
Short Term Money Market Loan
A short term money market loan is a contract between a borrower and Standard Chartered Bank (a lender) whereby the lender provides the borrower with a certain amount of currency, domestic or foreign, for a period not exceeding one year.
Short term money market loans provide either committed or uncommitted lines as a flexible form of borrowing to finance day-to-day cashflow requirements generated by normal business activity. They are not intended for the financing of long term borrowing requirements for which more appropriate credit lines are available.
Term Loan
A term loan is a contract between a borrower and a lender, that is Standard Chartered Bank whereby the lender provides the borrower with a certain amount of currency, be it domestic or foreign, for a period in excess of one year and up to 5 years, although this may vary subject to local market conditions and underwriting standards.
Term Loans are a structured form of borrowing intended to finance specific transactions, usually specific assets and the funding requirements that this generates. They are intended for the financing of longer term borrowing requirements as opposed to overdrafts that are for the financing of short-term working capital requirements.
Overdraft
An Overdraft facility is a revolving borrowing facility repayable on demand, made available in connection with a current account. Where permitted by law, a customer can overdraw his current account when any entry is debited to the account for more than the available credit balance on it.
