1. Letters of Credit (L/Cs)

The bank facilitates international trade by issuing Letters of Credit. Standard Chartered Bank global network and correspondent relationships with major banks and financial institutions worldwide allows customer's trade effectively using various types of L/Cs we currently issue. These include:

  • Transferable documentary credit
  • Irrevocable documentary credit
  • Standby documentary credit
  • Red clause documentary credit

2. Documentary Collections

Standard Chartered will handle all financial and commercial documentation to facilitate international trade requirements for our customers. Customers benefit from taking advantage of our expertise and global network as well as our large network of correspondent bank relationships. These include:

  • Inward documentary collection
  • Outward documentary collection

3. Guarantees/Bonds

These are open to all customers within our customer base. Customers are able to take advantage of a number of different types of bonds available allowing them additional flexibility in the manner in which they conduct their international business. Options available include:

  • Shipping Guarantees
  • Bid Bonds
  • Performance Guarantees
  • Advance Payment Guarantees
  • Payment guarantees
  • Customs Bonds

4. Supply Chain – financing programme

(I) Buyer Finance Programme

(II) Supplier Chain Finance Programme (SCF)

The Supplier Finance Programme is a bilateral supply chain-financing programme under which SCB offers packaged post-shipment finance facilities to the suppliers of our existing finance/target CR clients (Anchors). This finance is provided for those parts of the suppliers transactions which have a direct linkage to the Anchor and is based in large part on the strength of the underlying buyer-supplier relationship.
