Standard Chartered Regional Boss Visits Ghana
Accra 27 February, 2008 – Mr. Raheel Ahmed, Standard Chartered’s Regional Head of Consumer Banking for Africa, arrives in Ghana on Wednesday 27 February, 2008 for a two-day working visit.
During his visit, Mr. Ahmed will hold strategic meetings with key management staff of the franchise in Ghana including the management and staff of Standard Chartered’s Consumer Banking business in Ghana.
Mr. Raheel Ahmed, who is based in Dubai, has clearly articulated a well thought out strategy for the Consumer Banking business and has been leading the initiative in conjunction with the local country teams to get it implemented since assuming office in January of 2007.
Before his present appointment, Mr Ahmed served as Regional Head of Consumer Credit, MESA, from where he moved to Pakistan to head the Consumer Bank for Pakistan & Sri Lanka. Under his leadership the Consumer Bank in Pakistan went through rapid expansion of branches, sales foot print and customer relationships delivering high growth in income and profitability. He played a key role in the due diligence and amalgamation of Union Bank in Pakistan which was the largest financial transaction in the history of the country.
Mr. Raheel Ahmed departs Accra on Thursday 28 February 2008.
