The CEO of Indonesia, Simon Morris, was one of the preferred CEOs chosen and invited as a panelist in the CEO Fire Talk 2008: Indonesia as the next emerging market after BRIC* held recently in Jakarta . The panelists were from the telecommunication business, energy & mining and banking industry. Standard Chartered Bank was selected to be the representative from the banking industry. An audience of more than 400 were able to listen to presentations followed by a robust Q&A session.
The talk also highlighted the significant growth opportunities for Indonesia that could lead to it being the 7th largest economy in the world by 2025 up from its current 19th position.
This was an excellent opportunity for SCB to position itself as the Right Partner as we were the only bank invited from 130 banks in the country.
