At Standard Chartered, we are committed to the communities and environments in which we operate and we are proud to have grown with Indonesia for 148 years.
We will continue to further contribute on Indonesia's development as a great place to live and work, in line with our Diversity & Inclusion program, while continue focusing our community efforts in areas of Youth, Health and Education.
Standard Chartered is also proud of our Bank's employees for their commitment to volunteering in the local community and their dedication to various corporate social responsibility initiatives
Highlights of SCB Indonesia Sustainability Programme
- Carried out 2,000 free monthly cataract operations in over 15 cities in 2008-2009 and to be continued in 2010, in partnership with Perdami.
- This year committed USD1 million over three years to treat refractive error (free eyeglasses for 18,000 secondary school students and teachers) and diabetic retinopathy in Indonesia, in association with Helen Keller International.
- Conducted the first Seeing is Believing fundraising flagship event titled Walk for Sight in 2009 raised over USD80K.

Donated USD 25K for Comprehensive Educational Support Services for Children with
Visual Impairment. - Educated over 7000 people on HIV/AIDS awareness in 2009.
- 500 students scholarships funded, 370 teachers trainied, and 5 schools rehabilitated in Jogjakarta in partnership with Sampoerna Foundation.
- 10 houses rebuilt in Jabodetabek in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

USD80,000 sponsorship for community development programme in Kapuk Village,
North Jakarta. - Planting of 5000 tress in Tabanan, Bali through a partnership with PATT Foundation, 5000 more to be planted in Q1 2010.
- Provides working capital to 200,000 low-income households through a network of 36 branches in West Java and Banten provinces, in partnership with PT MBK Ventura.
