TERMS & CONDITIONS
THE REWARDS PLUS PROGRAMME
- The Standard Chartered Rewards Plus Programme is open only to Standard
Chartered Gold, Executive, Classic, and Cricket Credit CardMembers and Standard
Chartered Grindlays Gold and Silver Credit CardMembers. The Rewards Plus
programme will not be available to other Co-branded Credit Cards of Standard
Chartered Bank unless otherwise communicated in writing by Standard Chartered
Bank.
- Cards not chargeable to the following fees - joining/entrance fees, annual fees,
renewal fees and/or lifetime fees, shall not be eligible to earn reward points
starting August 1, 2005.
- The scheme will remain open till such time as may be terminated by Standard
Chartered Bank at its sole discretion.
- Offers against all products and services featured in the catalogue are
valid for limited period and Standard Chartered Bank reserves the sole right
to exclude these in subsequent editions of the catalogue if any.
POINTS ACCRUAL
- Standard Chartered Bank will award 1 point for every Rs.125 of domestic
purchases and 1 point for Rs. 80 of international purchases from the effective
date. Rewards Plus points will not be accrued on charges that are subsequently
reversed.
- The usage of valid Multiple, Supplementary Cards for domestic / international
purchases by CardMembers will accrue points at the rates as defined above.
- Standard Chartered Bank expressly reserves the rights at any time and
without any previous notice to alter, modify, change or vary the rate at
which the Rewards Plus points are awarded.
- Standard Chartered Bank, at their discretion, may also award points for
any other transactions either for specific period or for specific situations.
- Points will be awarded to CardMembers for all valid charges incurred on
a valid Standard Chartered Credit Card. Points will not be awarded to CardMembers
towards Cash Advances and fees such as Entrance fee, Annual fee, Supplementary
Card fee, Multiple Card fee, Cash Advance fee, Extra fee for Picture Cards,
Charges for Dishonoured cheques, Financial charges, Delinquency charges:
late payment, collection charges and any other fee or charge levied by the
Bank.
- Points will accrue to CardMembers only if all such cards (with respect
to more than one card being issued on an account - be it a Supplementary,
Multiple or any other card) issued to the CardMember are in good standing.
- If any Card in a CardMembers account - be it a Primary, Supplementary,
Multiple or any other card goes delinquent (i.e. overdue or over credit
limit or in collection), statement of all cards in that account will stop
reflecting the Rewards Plus points so long as the Card account remains in
that state. On the card account being regularised and at the discretion
of Standard Chartered Bank, the points may be reinstated.
- No accumulation or carry over or redemption of Rewards Plus points will
be permissible, if on the relevant date any card in the Card Account be
it a Primary, Supplementary, Multiple or any other Card has been withdrawn
or closed or cancelled or reinstated or is liable to be cancelled / withdrawn
or if the Standard Chartered Card Account is a delinquent account or if
there is any breach of the Terms and Conditions of the CardMember Agreement.
The Rewards Plus points will lapse in the event that such a Card Account
is closed either voluntarily by the CardMember or by the Bank at its discretion
whether or not the CardMember dues are cleared. Should the Card Account
be reinstated, either by the CardMember or by Standard Chartered Bank, the
CardMember will not get the benefit of any points accrued prior to cancellation
or withdrawal or closure of the Card Account.
- In the event of voluntary closure of the Standard Chartered Card by a
CardMember, the Rewards Plus points that are in the Card Account can be
redeemed within a month of such closure. Failure to redeem these points
within a month of closure will lead to the Rewards Plus points automatically
lapsing.
- Points will accrue to the individual Card Accounts in the case of eligible
Primaries, Multiple cards or any other card be it a cross sell card or a
second card. However, points by any Supplementary cards will automatically
accrue to the Primary Card Account on which the Supplementary cards are
issued and not any other card account.
- Points accrued have no cash or monetary value and cannot be exchanged
for cash in any form. Notwithstanding this, points can be used to settle
annual fees towards Card membership provided the account is in good standing
(i.e. is not overdue or not over credit limit or not in collection) at the
time of such settlement.
- A CardMember cannot transfer any Standard Chartered Rewards Plus points
to another person.
- Computation of the Rewards Plus points is at sole discretion of Standard
Chartered Bank and shall be final, conclusive, binding on CardMembers and
will not be liable to be disputed or questioned.
- In the case of disputed transaction being resolved in favour of the CardMember
and / or where a transaction is reversed the equivalent Rewards Plus points
will also be reversed.
REDEMPTION
- Points accrued can only be redeemed by the Primary CardMember and not
by an additional CardMember.
- CardMembers need to have a minimum of 500 Rewards Plus points whenever
they wish to redeem their Rewards Plus points against products / vouchers
/ services.
- The Rewards Plus points are redeemable only against products, vouchers
or services featured in the Rewards Plus catalogue and against any other
products, vouchers or services as intimated from time to time by Standard
Chartered Bank under the Rewards Plus programme. Redemption of Rewards Plus
points against any outstanding or other fees billed is not permissible.
- All products featured in the Rewards Plus catalogue are subject to availability
of the goods and supplier warranty restrictions at the time of redemption.
Standard Chartered Bank gives no warranty (whether expressly or implied)
whatsoever with respect to product / services acquired under the Rewards
Plus programme either directly through the Rewards Plus programme or through
other partner loyalty programmes. In particular, Standard Chartered Bank
gives no warranty with respect to the quality of goods acquired or their
suitability for any purpose.
- Selection of products offered is and will be at the sole discretion of
Standard Chartered Bank and is liable to change without notice.
- Redemption Orders from Standard Chartered CardMembers once given to Standard
Chartered Bank cannot be cancelled or withdrawn or changed.
- On redemption, the Rewards Plus points would automatically be subtracted
from the accumulated points in the Standard Chartered CardMember account.
- Goods will reach the Primary CardMember within 4-6 weeks of receipt of
the order on a best effort basis. Notwithstanding the same, Standard Chartered
Bank will not be held liable for any delay beyond this time period.
- Rewards Plus points once exchanged for any other partner loyalty programme
cannot be transferred back or cancelled.
- All products / vouchers are subject to availability and will be allocated
on a first come first served basis.
- Selected products / services are described as being eligible for Accelerator
redemptions. Accelerator redemptions offer Standard Chartered Credit CardMembers
the benefit of claiming these products, vouchers or services faster by using
a combination of points and rupees. CardMembers can utilise this option
by redeeming the Accelerator points specified (which are lower than the
normal points specified) and paying the difference between the normal points
and the Accelerator points through the specified Accelerator rupee contribution.
This contribution amount will be debited to the Standard Chartered Card
Account only. Rewards will not be available until the Accelerator payment
is authorised or cleared.
- Orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received and accepted
by Standard Chartered Bank. If a CardMember does not have sufficient number
of Rewards Plus points or sufficient available credit to make any required
monetary payment for an order, the order will be deemed cancelled.
