Users who were already using our old Internet Banking Systema) How do I login to the new system?
- Visit our website

www.standardchartered.co.in & click on Net Banking login section
- Enter your existing 16 digit user id (generally the card number) in the Username area & the existing 6 digit pin in the Password area, and then click on the login button.
- Accept the Terms & Conditions shown by the system
- Now create you own personalized username & password.
- Once you have created a personalized username and password, you can login using your personalized username & password.
b) What if I dont remember my existing User id or Password?
If you dont remember your existing user id / password, please contact our Phone Banking for password re-issue. You can alternatively write to us at

c) I have tried to login with my existing User Id & Password, but I keep on getting the following error:
We are unable to log you on. You may have entered an invalid username or password or your account may be locked due to multiple retries

There is even a choice of "Service Ambassadors" to guide you around the
site. Additionally, the following points may prove helpful:
- Do not send any transactions, address updates, or other instructions
through "Contact Us" or any other form of direct e-mail.
- If your browser does not respond after clicking on "Submit", do not
click "Submit" again as the transaction may be duplicated. Check the
balance or go to Transaction History of the relevant account. Do keep
your transaction number for further reference.
- For security reasons, your login session of Net Banking will be terminated if your browser is left idle for a while.
- Please remember Net Banking does not accept simultaneous
or multiple log-in
- Please be patient when downloading an application form as it may be
as large as 7M bytes
- Some download forms may require Acrobat Reader - links are provided
on the website for your convenience.
- During the first time login, it is important that you read the Electronic
Banking Terms & Conditions carefully before clicking "I agree". The
System will prompt you to do so again whenever we change the Terms &

Guidelines
for Online Security
At
Net Banking we use Secured Java Applet and Security Gateway
technology that provides Triple-DES encryption to protect all your data
transmitted over the Internet. From the moment you log-in to the time
you log-out, all information is protected by strong end-to-end encryption;
i.e. from your PC browser to the Bank's system.
However,
for maximum protection please note:
Phishing: It is advisable to be wary of fraudulent, suspicious or unsolicited emails, links hyperlinks or redirections from non-Standard Chartered Bank web sites that may display our logos or graphics to mislead user into submitting confidential information such as login ID, password, credit card numbers, account numbers or other account information. Such e-mails typically cite variety of reasons, including technical reasons, verification reasons or convenient updating of your particulars like billing information and database. Such fraudulent practice is usually referred as "phishing".

Safeguard
your Password:
-
Your Net Banking PIN is both personal and confidential. You must
never reveal your Password to anyone, including the staff of Standard Chartered Bank
-
Do
not use easy-to-guess numbers for your Password, such as your date
of birth, personal telephone number or sequential numbers such as 111111, 12356 etc.
-
The PIN must be memorized and the PIN advice destroyed. Do not write down your PIN or store it anywhere. Avoid using it when others can observe you.
-
Change
your Password regularly (once in 15 days). You can change your PIN anytime under the "Personal Update - Change PIN" function available on
Net Banking.

While
entering your Internet Banking ID and Password, please ensure that
others cannot see your screen and also you are not being observed
from behind
-
Change PIN immediately if you suspect that it has been revealed.
Log out:
-
Always
log out of Net Banking after using the service or
when you will be away from your PC. For security reasons, your login
session of Net Banking will be terminated if your
browser is left idle for a while.

Always
remember to close the browser application after logging out
-
Avoid
accessing Net Banking through PC's installed in
public/open areas, e.g. cyber-cafes or libraries.
Clear browser cache:
-
For
Netscape, select Edit > Preference > Advanced. Choose "Cache" from
the menu and then click "Clear Memory Cache" and "Clear Disk Cache"
buttons.
-
For
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4, select View > Internet Options. Choose
the "General" tab and click "Delete Files" on the "Temporary Internet
Files" section.
-
For
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, select Tools> Internet Options. Choose
the "General" tab and click "Delete Files" on the "Temporary Internet
Files" section.
Do not store your User ID/PIN in the browsers:
-
Remember to disable your auto-complete function on your browser, as this will make your Login ID & password automatically available to anyone having access to your system.

To turn this function off in MS Internet Explorer browser, click the Tools menu, click "Internet Options", click the "Content" tab, and click the "Autocomplete" button. Then disable the "User names and passwords on forms".
Verify the integrity of the website:
-
Before performing online banking transactions, make sure that the Bank website you access is genuine.
-
Always login Standard Chartered Online through the hyperlinks in Standard Chartered Bank's websites: www.standardchartered.com or www.standardchartered.co.in when you want to perform banking transactions.
-
Do not login Net Banking through hyperlinks embedded in eMails or third party websites.
-
If you are using Internet Explorer: Double click the "padlock" icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to check the security certificate of
Net Banking.
-
If you are using Netscape Navigator: Click "Security" and click "View Certificate". Check the certificate details of Standard Chartered Online.
-
Check that you are in a secured/protected environment by right-clicking on the respective web pages with the security icon that looks like a padlock or key and select "Properties". You would see the details of the encryption under "Connection" - for example: SSL3.0, RC4 with 128-bit encryption (High); RSA with 1024-bit exchange.

Do not use public or internet caf?computers to access online banking or perform financial transactions.
-
Do not disclose personal, financial or credit card information to little known or suspect websites.
-
Clear your browser's cache and history after each Online Banking session.
Use a computer device that you trust

Create passwords to protect your computer from unauthorized access

Do not conduct your Standard Chartered Online transactions in public or shared computers.

If you are using a wireless network or device, you are strongly advised to consult your vendor/service provide to ensure that your network or devices are configured with adequate security settings.
Install virus detection software in your computer
-
Install industry-recommended firewall and virus detection software to protect againt hackers, virus attacks and malicious "Trojan Horse" programs. These security programs can help to increase security and are available at most computer software stores.

Update the anti-virus and firewall softwares with security patches or newer versions on regular basis.

Delete and block junk or chain mails.
-
Do not install software or run programs of unknown origin.

Do not open email attachments from strangers.
Disable the "File and Printer Sharing" feature on your Operating system

Disable the "File and Printer Sharing" feature of your operating system to prevent illegal control or access to your computer.

For Windows 95/98, Click "Start", "Settings", "Control Panels". Double click "Network & Dial-up Connections". Click "File & Print Sharing" in the "Configuration" tab and disable "I want to be able to give others access to my files" and "I want to be able to allow others to print to my printer(s)".

For Windows NT/2000, Click "Start", "Settings", "Control Panels". Double click "Network & Dial-up Connections". Right click "Local Area Connection" then click "properties". Disable "File & Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks".
