Priority Banking clients were treated to “Nari”, an exclusive preview of paintings by Wasim Kapoor based on the theme – “psyche of the woman”, with a backdrop of a fashion show featuring some of country’s top designers and fusion performances by Subhen Chatterjee and his band Karma in Kolkata on October 7th, 2005.

The theme of the event focused on drawing similarities between the forces of nature and the psyche of the woman. The five elements Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Space were enmeshed with the various forms of the woman and presented in a captivating manner, through art, fashion and music.

Designers included Manish Arora, Wendell Rodrigues, Rohit Bal, Savio John, Shantanu – Nikhil, Krishna Mehta, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Anshu Arora Sen, Vidi Singhania, Gauri- Nayanika all courtesy BE. Models from Kolkata and Mumbai like Aditi Govitrikar, Tapur Chatterjee, Anchal Kumar walked the ramp wearing several unique creations by the designers. The grand finale of the fashion show was the models displaying drapes painted by the artist exclusively for the show. All this was accompanied by fusion performances by Subhen Chatterjee and his band Karma. The audience without doubt, was enraptured by the unique fusion of art, fashion and music.

The program was hosted by a celebrity MC from Mumbai, Shonali Nagrani and ended with a vote of thanks by Vikram Issar, GM & Head, Wealth Management and Distribution, Standard Chartered Bank India.

Priority banking clients were held in rapture by the noted poet and lyricist Javed Akthar who enthralled the audience with his poetry that reflects his philosophical musings. The event was organized at the Taj Lands End hotel, Mumbai on 24 th June, 2005.

Standard Chartered Priority Banking in association with Concern India Foundation organized Tarkash - an evening with Javed Akhtar, who made a poetry recital of his collection. The purpose of the event was to bring about social awareness and the importance of funds for an NGO to do good for society.

The recital touched upon various subjects such as the disparity that exists in society, extraterrestrial life and the cost of achieving greatness. Akhtar also recited a poem called Mother Teresa befitting the occasion.

The poetry recital was followed by a question-answer session where Akhtar was quizzed about matters relating to his personal beliefs, his source of inspiration and his future publications. Amongst the audience were famous onscreen personalities Zeenat Aman and Sumeet Sachdev.

The evening saw a Fusion music performance by Aman Ali Bangash in Sarod and Subhen Chatterjee alongwith his band Karma in accompaniment with Ustad Taufiq Qureshi and Ustad Sabbir Khan in Tabla.

The program was compeered by well know actress June Maliah and ended with a vote of thanks by Mr.Rajesh Kannan - Country Head - India, Priority Banking & Capital Markets, Standard Chartered Bank.

The invitation Gold event featured a set of 50 teams of 2 buddies each. To introduce the element of competition, Priority Banking Customers were given the choice of getting his/her own buddy who may not necessarily be a customer of the bank. The Tee off was preceded by High Tea. The 6 hours session of relaxed yet competitive golf was followed by lunch at the club house.

The day ended with the top three teams being presented mementos and prizes which included a fully paid holiday for two to Dubai, decorative items by Swaroski and electronics. This apart, the winners were also presented with a rolling trophy.

The teams included some of the captains of prominent Indian business houses like Hero Honda, Maruti Suzuki, Kelvinator India and royalty from Princely state of Kashmir, amongst others.
