Why should you, as a Non-Individual/Entity, use Net Banking?
Net Banking, Internet Banking service from Standard Chartered Bank is a simple, hassle-free & secure service, which allows you to access your accounts with us online in the comfort of your home or office at a time convenient to you. With Net Banking one can:

  • Moreover we have launched a new mode of access, "Query Only", where an individual could be authorised to access specific (or all) accounts over Net Banking on behalf of the Entity, but be restricted to only do "Queries" and any financial transaction (debits) would be prohibited in all cases.

Net Banking is also available with "All Transactions" access where authorised persons, can do all transactions, including financial transactions.

What are the kinds of access that Non Individuals get though Net Banking?
Such entities can authorise certain individuals by virtue of their position in the entity or by association with the entity to access the accounts that are held by the entity with Standard Chartered Bank. The entity can choose between "Query Only" or "All Transactions" access for each of the accounts that they would like to authorise access to certain individuals, using the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form.

    What is "Query Only" Access?
Such access allows persons authorised to access specific (or all) accounts of the entity, over Net Banking on your behalf, but be restricted to only do "Queries" on such accounts. All financial transactions (debits) would be prohibited for such accounts.

Who can be given "Query Only" Access?
Any one you would want to give access to only query/view your accounts. This can be an Accounts Manager or even your secretary.
Please note - Proprietor of a Proprietorship Concern cannot be registered with a "Query Only" access. Such a customer would necessarily get "All Transactions" access. The Sole Proprietor however can nominate and authorise any other person (say an employee) to access these accounts for "Query Only" Access.

    What is "All Transactions" Access?
This is an unrestricted access. The persons so authorised to access specific (or all) accounts of the entity, over Net Banking can do all transactions, unhindered for all these accounts. These include and are not limited to transactions like Funds Transfer, InterBank Funds Transfer, Demand Draft Requests, Bill Payments (soon to be launched), Fixed Deposit requests and Card Payments.

Who can be given "All Transactions" Access?
This is an unrestricted access hence can be given to individuals who already are recorded Authorised Signatories with the bank for specific accounts of the concern. Such Authorised Signatories (individuals) necessarily should have a mandate to operate such accounts individually and without any restrictions of value/amount or frequency on behalf of the concern.

Can limits on financial transactions be set-up for "All Transaction" Access to accounts?
NO. The access is unrestricted and we cannot set-up limits on any financial transactions.

Are there any limitations on the number of accounts or authorised persons that can be set-up in Net Banking?
No, you could have any number of accounts or individuals set-up for Net Banking access.

Can the same person have "Query Only" and "All Transaction" Access to accounts?
Yes. You could set-up some accounts for "Query Only" and some accounts for "All Transactions". Need less to say that the list of accounts for "Query Only" and the list of accounts for "All Transactions" have to be mutually exclusive. This feature is provided for on the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form.

What does the bank charge for Net Banking?
Nothing! This service comes to you completely FREE. Does not matter if you use "View Only" or "All Transactions" Access. This service is entirely free.

What is the procedure involved in registering Non Individuals for Net Banking?
There are five easy steps that go into registering for Net Banking for Non Individuals. This is best explained with an example.
For example: Let's say we have a Company M/s. ABC & Co wanting to register for Net Banking.

Step 1   The Directors of M/s. ABC & Co would have to authorise a certain individual, say the company's Accounts officer Mr. X to access all/or some accounts of the Company held with Standard Chartered Bank. They would have to complete the relevant Company Details on the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form.
Step 2   Further on, the directors/authorised signatories of M/s. ABC & Co would use the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form and pass the resolution as on the form.
Step 3   On the reverse of the resolution area, lies the access authorisation. Here details for Mr. X would have to be filled in. This would include the accounts that are authorised for access. You can either select "Query Only" or "All Transactions" and not both for each of the accounts. (In such case, the form would be returned unactioned). Lastly Mr. X has to sign in the area provided and the seal of M/s. ABC & Co would have to be affixed.
Step 4   In case there are more than three accounts that are to be accessed for one Mr. X, then you could use the next box where three more accounts can be added to the authorised list. But, the entire box with Mr. X's other details would have to be completed too and signed & stamped too.
Step 5   Drop the form in any of the Standard Chartered Bank branches or mail the form to the address specified on the form

Net Banking access would be set-up and Mr. X would receive his Login ID and the Password in eight days form the receipt of the form at the bank.

Can the given access to Net Banking be modified later?
Yes. Following are the various modifications to the access and the methods of requesting them.

ADD   To add a new person authorised to access the accounts, simply complete the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form and send it to us as you did in the first time.
APPEND   To append more accounts to a person already authorised by the company to access, simply complete the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form. Mention the new accounts that are to be added to the access list and send it to us as you did in the first time.
MODIFY   To modify the access mode [Form "Query Only" to "All Transactions" and/or vice versa} on the accounts already authorised by the company to access, complete the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form with the new (modified) access choices against the relevant accounts. Send it to us as you did in the first time.
DELETE   The Internet Banking Application for Non - Individuals form should not be used. The deletion request has to be a duly formatted Board Resolution clearly detailing the deletion the access to some accounts or all accounts that the individual currently has access, whether for View Only or All Transactions.

For Add, Append & Modify the entire Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form has to be completed in all respects including the Board Resolution.

The Deletion request should also be in the form of a Board Resolution, only difference is that it should be on plain paper and the Internet Banking Application for Non-Individuals form should not be used. Your relationship managers or your personal financial consultants in our branches would be glad to assist you in this.
