Transferring funds to your account
There are two ways of transferring funds:
Electronic Transfer
This is the fastest, most cost-effective and most secure method, with no charges from us for crediting funds to your account.
- Funds can be transferred to your account via telex, SWIFT, CHAPS (Clearing House Automated Payment System) or BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing System)
- When remitting sterling, please ask you bankers to pay through the UK CHAPS system
- For other currencies, please ask the remitter to send funds directly to us via SWIFT (quoting our SWIFT Code SCBLJESH).
Non-electronic Transfer
This option may attract charges.
- Cheques or banker's drafts should be made payable to the person or company into whose account they are to be paid and may be posted directly to us in Jersey.
- Cheques or drafts (other than sterling drawn in the UK) attract a charge of GBP35 / US$50, or €50. These are manually processed, which will delay funds being credited to your account.
- For new clients, non-sterling cheques or drafts for the initial deposit are accepted up to a value of US$10,000 or currency equivalent.
- US dollars drawn on US banks will be credited to your account seven working days after receipt, sterling cheques drawn in the UK are normally credited within four working days. Other currencies are normally credited within 12 working days.
- A new account opened with US dollar cheques or drafts will usually be operational 15 days after receipt.
- Other cheques and drafts which can only be handled on a collection basis will be credited to your account when we receive the proceeds from the paying bank.
- All cheques and drafts are purchased with recourse to a client's account, and we reserve the right to clear any cheque on a collection basis.
