Foreign Currency Debit Card
What is the Value?- Customers will now be able to transact in the currency of the country they are visiting!Will I be charged for using the card at a POS in any country?- No
Can I withdraw Foreign Currency?- No – All SCB ATM currently stock Kes only. Withdrawals will be debited from respective FX account and currency will be provided in Kes against the days FX rates.
Some KCB ATMs do stock Foreign Currency – there will be a charge for using non-SCB ATMS
Can I use the card in Kenya?- Yes – the account will be debited against the days FX rates
Can I use the card in any other country?- Yes - Withdrawals or POS transactions will be in the currency of the country where these transactions take place.
How do I apply for a Foreign Currency card?- Current Customers - Simply visit your respective branch and fill in the one page Debit Card Request Form
NTB customers – the pre-requisite will be a FCCY current account.
Will I be charged for ATM withdrawals?- Yes
The withdrawal charge from Local SCB ATM machines is USD 0.40 or 0.20 GBP, 0.30 EURO, 45.00 YEN A USd 3.30, EURO 2.80, GBP 1.90, Yen 455 will be charged to the customer for use of the card in any other ATM (locally and internationally) other than that of Standard Chartered Bank Kenya.
When will my card be ready?- The card will be ready in three days.
What Identification do I need to collect my card? - You will need your national ID or Passport to collect your card.
Can I deposit Foreign Currency through the ATM? - Yes
What facilities are available in the card? - We will offer only withdrawal and deposit of cash facility on the Foreign Currency Card. No other facilities will be available on this card.
