Definition
Business Financial Services (BFS) is a term used to describe
small to medium sized business customers within the Consumer
Banking Division.
These are characterized by:
- Mainly sole-proprietors /family businesses, partnerships and limited liability companies
- owner managed and their business and personal financial
affairs are inter-linked and dependant
- most likely have more than one source of income and
are engaged in more than one type of business
These can be classified as follows:
- Small manufacturing and processing firms
- Traders: These includes Import/Export, Distributors
and retailing
- Professional services: This includes lawyers, doctors,
architects
- Non-profit making organisations including NGO's, churches,
missionary funded and run schools, AID agencies.
- Private Institutions: These include educational institutions
such as schools, colleges (Secretarial & Computer
training), driving schools, hospitals and clinics.
