Standard Chartered Bank opened its representative office in Vientiane Lao PDR in June 1996 as a link in our Mekong Subregion Strategy. The Representative Office is responsible for all of Standard Chartered Group's marketing efforts in the Lao PDR and is only the Western nationality bank to have the office in Laos.
