An international cover with enhanced benefits. Standard Chartered Bank together with CHARTIS Insurance provides a unique insurance plan to safeguard you against possible loss of your wallet resulting in the following.
- Fraudulent usage of your Debit / Credit Card
- Loss of National Identity Card / Driving License / Passport
- Loss of cash at ATM
- Loss of SIM / keys
That's not all, you are covered against fraudulent usage of your Credit / Debit Card and will be eligible to receive a free replacement card.
This international cover also provides you an Accident Medical Cover for injury sustained due to an ATM hold up.

How do I sign up?
If you are not still covered by Smart Wallet, simply call us on 2480480 for enrollment. Your premiums will be deducted from your card account each month.
How do I report a claim?
Just call 2 480480 locally or +94 11 2 480480 internationally within 48 hours of the loss or incident.
Can I de-enroll?
Yes. Please dial 2 480480 and request to be de-enrolled. You will be de-enrolled upon identity verification.
What if I have already de-enrolled?
You can re-enroll by calling 2 480480.

Terms & Conditions
- Card Fraud - You will be reimbursed for fraudulent use of the card occurring during the first 48 hours after the loss of wallet, up to the limits stated in the Table of Benefits.
- While you may have multiple cards and qualify for multiple claims on fraudulent use of cards by paying separate premiums on each, items relating to all other losses i.e Loss of Cash, Loss of Documents, Keys / SIM Replacement and Accidental Medical Cover, subject to loss of wallet, will be claimable only from one card.
- Loss of Cash at ATMs - In the event of loss of cash resulting from violent or forcible hold up, during withdrawal from an ATM using a Standard Chartered Bank Card, you will be reimbursed up to the limits stated in the Table of Benefits.
- Cardholder is required to give notice of a claim to the Bank as soon as reasonably possible but in any event within first 48 hours of any loss likely to give rise to a claim.
- Claims will only be entertained, if the cardholder has paid premiums for the month the claim is made.
- This insurance shall continue until the expiry of the Master Policy between Standard Chartered Bank and CHARTIS Insurance. Continuation of this insurance will be at the discretion of these two entities.
Exclusions
- Loss of wallet within the confines of cardholder’s home
- This policy shall not cover loss / injury directly caused by Riot, Strike and Terrorism
- Infidelity of the cardholder
Definitions
"Loss of Wallet" means actual loss disappearance / theft with or without violence, of the cardholder’s wallet resulting in the cardholder being permanently deprived of same.
"Wallet" means a purse, a hand bag, wallet or briefcase commonly used for carrying cash, identity cards, credit/debit cards and passport.
"Accident" means bodily injury caused solely by violent / accident external and visible means, results from a hold-up at an ATM machine.
