Standard Chartered has operated in Mexico since 1968 with one Representative Office in Mexico City. In 1991, Standard Chartered opened an additional Representative Office in Monterrey. Trade Service Units are mantained in both offices, and these Units assist in the negotiation of letters of credit for Mexican beneficiaries and applicants.
