Standard Chartered celebrates World Environment Day

In celebration of World Environment Day, Standard Chartered, Nepal organised a series of initiatives and events to raise awareness of climate change and to encourage positive actions to tackle its impacts.
Standard Chartered, Nepal observed World Environment Day by organising various activities within and outside the Bank. The activities included Tree Plantation Campaign, Vehicle Pooling, Display of Environment Protection Placards at different Branches and broadcast of several awareness building messages on preservation of the Environment.
Tree Plantation Campaign – one of the key initiatives was organized by the Bank on 4 June to mark the World Environment Day. Anurag Mishra, Acting CEO of Standard Chartered, Nepal inaugurated the program at a special function organized by the Bank at Laboratory Higher Secondary School, Kirtipur. The Principal of Lab School, Lakpa Sherpa took the opportunity to appreciate the initiative undertaken by the Bank and its staff members. Amongst other stakeholders, staff members of the Bank also participated actively during the occasion. Altogether ~1,000 tree saplings were planted in the area made available by the Laboratory Higher Secondary, Kirtipur. Department of Forest assisted this initiative of the Bank by providing tree saplings.
