Standard Chartered Bank in Peru
The Representative Office in Lima was opened in January
1975. In January 1998, Standard Chartered concluded the
purchase of a controlling interest in Banco Exterior de
los Andes y de Espana S.A. (Extebandes). With this purchase,
Standard Chartered now offers a full range of commercial
bank services in Peru under the name of Banco Standard Chartered,
and specializes in Corporate Banking and Treasury, with
an emphasis on trade finance.
In addition, Standard Chartered continues to maintain a
separate Representative Office in Lima, which offers correspondent
banking and trade finance services to financial institutions
in Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.
