Standard Chartered Bank staff visit Friends of Environment's Ras Makhbath Camp
29th April 2010, Qatar -Standard Chartered Bank's staff along with families and friends recently took part in a trip to the Friends of Environment's Ras Makhbath Camp in Al Khor for its annual Flower for Each Spring Programme. Mohammad Hashim, programme spokesperson , welcomed the participants for the day by providing information about this year's chosen plant, Al Kheriza (halopeplis perfoliata); an under-shrub with numerous branches, covered with succulent leaves. Its name originated from kharaz which means beads. He also talked about the programmes' first plant Al Shafallah , which was launched in 1999.
Staff was accompanied by David Godwin, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bank Qatar who also participated in the activities of the programme that is aimed at educating people on how to preserve environment, plants and flowers in Qatar.
