Standard Chartered Bank participates in the inaugural campaign for "A Flower Each Spring" programme
Staff and families inaugurate the Al Qullam plant for 2011
30th January 2011, Qatar -Standard Chartered Bank's staff along with their families took part in a trip to the Friends of Environment's Ras Makhbath Camp at Al Khor to the launch of the annual "A Flower Each Spring" programme. Dr. Saif Al Hajari, Chairman of the campaign committee, who is also the FEC ( Friends of the Environment ) Chief, welcomed the participants for the day by providing information about this year's chosen plant, Al Qullam (Arthrocnemum glaucum); an under-shrub with numerous branches, covered with succulent leaves. This year's chosen plant possesses a high degree of tolerance to both drought and high temperature.
Staff were accompanied by Senior Management of the Bank who also participated in the activities of the programme that is aimed at educating people on how to preserve the environment and natural habitat in Qatar.
