Standard Chartered appoints Head of Consumer Bank Treasury
Bank continues to expand its retail banking platform with a dedicated Treasury service
31 January, Qatar - Standard Chartered hosted an exclusive event for their Priority and Medium Enterprise customers at the West Bay Branch on the evening of 27th January.
The Head of Standard Chartered's Consumer Bank, Dermot Fitzgerald took the opportunity to announce the launch of a dedicated Treasury desk for Retail customers and the appointment of Matthijs Westra, who is heading this service.
Matthijs Westra joins the Qatar franchise from Standard Chartered Bank in Bahrain where he managed the Bank's Treasury Sales for Northern Gulf Levant & Oman. Prior to this role, Matthijs was with ABN AMRO's Private Bank in Dubai in the role of Treasury & Structured Products Specialist. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hogeschool Windesheim in the Netherlands.
Products offered by the Consumer Bank Treasury include Market Research, competitive interest rates and pricing on day to day transactions, Multi Currency accounts; customized and tailor made Investment solutions and special pricing on remittances locally and abroad.
Dermot Fitzgerald, Head of the Consumer Bank in Qatar said, "Matthijs' appointment is a reflection of Standard Chartered Bank's strategy for the retail business across the Group that focuses on offering tailored solutions for our discerning customers through our highly skilled people".
