Standard Chartered appoints new Head of Transaction Banking
Bank continues to step up focus in Qatar Wholesale Banking
06 February 2011, Doha -In line with its strategy to increase focus on the Bank's transactional banking business, Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of Salman Sharif as Head of Transaction Banking in Qatar.
Salman moved to Qatar in his new role from Karachi, Pakistan. His prime responsibility there was setting the strategic direction of Transaction Banking for Wholesale Bank business.
Salman has been with Standard Chartered Bank for over 8 years, principally with Wholesale Banking, with assignments in Karachi. His last assignment was Director and Head of Transaction Banking with Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan Limited. He has comprehensive experience in managing people, processes and profitability. He has overall banking experience of 13 years with various international banks besides Standard Chartered.
Salman commented, 'Transaction banking is a core revenue contributor for Standard Chartered's Wholesale Banking business and we expect to see strong growth in the business going forward.
