Women in Leadership programme

Women in leadership programme

The percentage of female managers represented at senior levels has continued to increase over the last few years and at each of our most senior work levels female representation is between 15 to 17 per  cent. Among those employees that we have identified as potential candidates for senior management positions, 27 per cent are women.

In order to further support our female employees and provide them with the knowledge and skills to manage their careers with us, we piloted a specialised development programme in 2008. Following the success of this programme in 2009, we held two programmes in Dubai - one designed for women in the Middle East and the other for women in Africa - and two programmes in Seoul, South Korea.

The programme uses a number of success measures including promotion, retention rates and performance against peer groups. 100 per cent of participants say they would recommend the programme to others. Manager feedback has also been very positive, making comments such as:

"She told me that this programme has boosted her spirit and offered a very impressive learning opportunity"

"I could recognise her communication skills have been improved a lot"

"She is working with more confidence than before"
