Our performance

Across 13 countries in Asia and Africa we have partnered with 41 partner MFIs to provide access to financial services to an estimated 1.2 million clients. During the year we aggressively expanded operations in India and Africa, signed a landmark deal with BRAC Bangladesh and became the first international bank in China to provide credit facilities to an organization dedicated to microfinance projects.

Beyond business we also continue to participate and lead on the thought leadership front. Standard Chartered Bank is now the principal sponsor of this year's Global Microfinance Investment Congress and is also co hosting Microfinance - Cracking the Capital Markets South Asia in India in April 2008.
