Fees and other charges

- Valuation fees - this depends on the value of the property
Qualifying Criteria and Home Loan Requirements
- Ugandan citizens, permanent residents and expatriates
- Minimum age 21
- Salaried customers meeting all the specified requirements
- Employees and Directors of reputable companies and well established SMEs who are purchasing a residential property for owner occupation. (Must have demonstrable and verifiable monthly income for the past 12 months)
- Professionals and consultants who earn a regular monthly income and are purchasing a residential property for owner occupation
Documentation required:
- Duly completed and signed home loan application form
- Original ID and copy of passport
- 3 passport size photographs
- Copy of utility bill for current residential address
- Certified bank statements for the last 12 months(for non-SCB customer)
- Financial and / or management accounts for the self employed applicants.
- Letter from employer (if applicable)
- 3 pay slips (original or copy certified by the employer)
- Copy of title deed
- Valuation report (to be done by the bank’s approved valuer after approval)
- Sales agreement (for customers buying property)
- Approved building plans
- Spouse consent - this should be a declaration of marital status of the borrower coupled with a marriage certificate if married and mortgaging matrimonial property. A valid identification of the Borrowers spouse and passport photograph of the borrowers spouse.
- Photocopy of the financial card
- Proof of residence
- Photographs of the property both internal and external
- For applicants who are purchasing property, they need to avail the new TIN as a directive by URA for purposes of effecting transfer of property into their names
- Please note that all the fees for the facility are to be picked upfront from the client’s account for those taking Home Purchases and Refinancing, whereas for Equity Release we can deduct the fees from the loan amount that the client is borrowing
