Standard Chartered m-banking is a new revolution in banking. It literally puts banking under your thumb. Now you can avoid the queues and enjoy the convenience and security of mobile banking, wherever you are and whenever you need to, 24 hours a day.
With m-banking you can do all this on your mobile phone:
- Make a balance enquiry
- Request a mini statement of last 3 transactions
- Transfer funds across your accounts and other pre-nominated accounts in Standard Chartered
- Pay utility bills for Umeme and National Water and Sewerage Corporation
- Request for a chequebook
- Get alerts for withdrawals on your account
How m-banking works:
- Step 1 Simply dial *177# on your mobile phone
- Step 2 Enter your account number (for default account type “0”)
- Step 3 Enter your secret PIN
- Step 4 Choose from any of the services on the menu by typing the corresponding number
- Step 5 Your transaction will be processed
- Step 6 You will get a confirmation of your transaction together with your latest account balance
How do I register for m-banking?
- You will be required to fill in a simple form to be handed in at any branch
- Nominate the operating account number – this can only be current and savings account, however not Safari Savings account
- Nominate a third party account(s) only to receive funds transfer
- Provide your Umeme, National Water & Sewerage Corporation account numbers
- Provide your mobile number
- All other facilities will be enabled automatically – balance enquiry, transaction details, New cheque book and bank statement request.
- Your m-banking PIN will be mailed to the account holders preferred branch
