David Stileman is the Chairman, Americas, of Standard Chartered Bank. In this role he is responsible for supporting the bank’s strategic development and client coverage in the Americas.
Prior to this role, he was Chief Executive Officer, Americas from December 2007 until May 2011 and was responsible for all of the bank’s businesses in the Americas.
David joined Standard Chartered in 1984, based in Hong Kong. He was appointed Chairman of Standard Chartered Asia in 1993 and as Chief Executive of Corporate Finance, Standard Chartered Bank in 1994. From 1996 to early 2007, David was Group Head, Corporate Development, responsible for the Group’s acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and stock exchange listings.
David is the Deputy Chairman and President of the BritishAmerican Business in New York, a senior advisor of the Advisory Board of Corsair Capital, a Trustee of the American Associates of the Royal Academy Trust and is a board member of the Partnership for New York City. David is also on the Management Committee for Seeing is Believing, Standard Chartered’s sight restoration initiative.
