The Standard Chartered Bank Zambia, Wholesale Bank provides banking services to a number of top corporate clients in Zambia. We are rated one of the Big Four banks in the country and have had 100 years of on the ground experience in the Zambian banking sector.

Our Wholesale bank comprises of a Relationship Management team that works closely with our products partners in Transaction Banking and Global Markets to deliver world class banking products, services and solutions to our corporate clients.

Our Relationships team is there to review service levels, to ensure that we are meeting your expectations and to help you with future strategy in the markets in which we operate.

As a client of Standard Chartered Bank you will have a dedicated team of Standard Chartered professionals to ensure the smooth delivery of the Lending, Transactional Banking and Global Markets Products.

We follow a consultative approach and believe in the dictum “global products, local innovation” while designing products / services that meet your specific needs and integrate into your current processes in a seamless and secure manner.


2. Lending Products

Standard Chartered Bank Zambia also extends various lending products tailored to meet our clients financing requirements. We offer custom made lending products at competitive interest rates. Our lending products include but are not limited to the following;

  • Overdraft Facilities – this product allows clients to enjoy a flexible form of borrowing intended to finance day-to-day cash flow requirements generated by normal business activity. A limit will be agreed on the account up to which clients may overdraw. Once the limit is utilised interest will be charged on outstanding utilisation on a daily basis.
  • Term Loans – we also offer term lending facilities, intended to provide our clients with funding for capital investments such as asset purchase or plant expansion.

Both of the above products are offered in local currency and foreign currency.

  • Commodity Finance

4. Structured Finance

Standard Chartered is committed to facilitate trade flows in the emerging markets by providing term Structured Finance to mainly commodity related business. Clients are increasingly turning to our Commodity, Structured Trade and Export Finance product specialists for their needs as commodity traders or participants in flows of commodities and capital goods in and out of emerging markets, particularly the Africa-Asian trade corridor.

We offer a combination of banking products and services packaged to provide a unique financing solution to our clients. Facilities will generally be extended on a short term uncommitted basis.
